11/3 - Kendle's Testimony

Last week on World Sunday School Day, Kendle made an excellent speech.

My name is Kendle Lam, and I have been coming to Sunday school ever since I was born. Every Sunday we come to church and learn some Bible stories and sing worship songs together. I already know most of the stories because I used to own a picture Bible with most of the famous Bible stories. This picture Bible is pretty short and the text is big, so it can be very easy to read and understand. So when the teacher talked about the stories at Sunday school, I always knew at least a little about them. But I did learn a lot from all these Bible stories even though I have heard them over and over again. For example, I learned that God can do anything from the story of creation, and from Noah’s Ark I learned that you can still trust and have faith in God even when others laugh at you. I also learned that God keeps His promises from the story of Abraham. The Bible always can remind me that God is there with me all the time.

When I was little, I used to have bad dreams. When I read this book called Monster Incorporated, it made me feel even worse. I knew there was no such thing as monsters, but it was creepy to think that there were actually such things as monsters. So I made sure to close my door every night. One night, I recalled Psalms 23:4: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  When I thought of this psalm of David, I remembered that God is with me and that I didn't need to worry. From that point on, I was able to sleep well. These Bible verses really helped me.

The Bible can be used as a reference for many real life situations. It tells me what is right and what is wrong. Thanks for all the Sunday school teachers, because they make learning Bible stories really fun!
