I can't hide from you - 7/17

In the children worship this Sunday (7/17), we learned a new song “Thy Word”. It is a beautiful song and Children love it. However, when I asked them, what does it mean by ‘Your word is the lamp on my feed and light on my path’? They all look puzzled and confused. I guess we need to teach them what 暗喻 is in their Chinese class next semester :-)

Today, we have a new friend coming to our church, Annalee, who recently moved to Nashua from southern California. We are so happy to see more kid joining us.
However, we also lose a few kids. Guess what, they can’t wait to have a VBS at CBCGN (which is in two weeks), so they joined in a VBS in another church this week. Hope they all had a good time there. Talking about VBS, not until the VBS training this afternoon, I didn’t realize that the scripture we learned in today’s sermon was exactly the same ones schemed in this year’s VBS, Psalm 139. I guess we also had a sneak peek of the VBS today :-)
So, the title of today’s sermon is “Hide and Seek” and the scheme is “Where you go, God is there”. Kids learned that No one can hide from God. In fact, we actually learned a song called “I cannot Hide from You"(Psalm 139) during the sermon.
After the worship and sermon, we have a little fun game, a different kind of “Hide and seek”. I hid the bible verses from Psalm 139 in church front lawn, and kids sought to find them. They did an incredible job. Within 10 minutes, they found all 26 hidden bible slips. Some found more than others. My initial plan was to have them memorize the bible verses they found. The more, the better, right? ^_^ God has mercy, in the end, all the kids read just aloud the verses of Psalm 139 together. However, it took us a while to figure out who is reading what in which order based on the slips in their hands. Well, they did it, please enjoy the photos and video.
