9/18 Life is not fair... by Sarah Yi

This week’s topic for the children’s chapel was prayer. All the kids learned to pray to God when you’re happy, sad or sick. They also learned this from the memory verse.
“ Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:15”
At worship, all the kids sang three songs. Our pianist today was Kendle. We read a story about how workers came to a vineyard to do work. Some people came earlier and some came late. The ones who worked the longest wanted to get more pay. Instead they got the same amount of money. What we learned from this is life isn’t fair. People think everything is not fair.
For an activity to learn this fact, 4 volunteers came up and did different amount of push-ups. One person did 20, another 10, 5, and 1. They all received the same amount of prizes, 1 piece of candy. This week we learned a lot of things from the bible, and from our teacher.

  1. The bible verse Sarah quoted should be James 5:16.

  2. “Life is not fair”, Hmm, that’s always a facinating topic for childen and adults. Granted that the parable of vineyard workers is about kingdom of heaven - God saves by grace, not by our worthiness, it was very interesting to observe children and their teacher Zhao Rou discussing about the “unfairness” in our lives in Sunday school.

Obviously, all children realized the “unfairness” in their young lives. Through discussion, their teacher guided them see the “unfairness” in a different way, and learn how the deal with the “unfairness” they are facing. Excellent work! I wish I could learn all these when I was at their age.

    Blessings,
    Zhaoyang
