Title : Yes or No? A parable of two sons
By Jeffrey Lam
Today we learned about keeping promises and making the right choice. The bible verses are from Matthew 21:28-32, it is a parable about two sons. We acted out a play about two brothers named William and John. Their father said there were a lot of leaves in their lawn, so he asked John to rake the leaves. John wanted to finish his airplane model, so he said "no". Then the father asked William to do the job while he was playing Wii and watching TV. He said "okay". When their father left for work, John decided to go out and rake the leaves and finish the airplane model later. When their father came home, William was still playing Wii and watching TV, yet John was outside raking.

From that story we learned that just saying yes or no is not as important as actually doing the job. We discussed why William said yes but didn’t do it. We also talked about in real life what we promised about but ending up not doing it.
Then we played a game about chores. There was a person who would act out a chore they do to earn money. Then the other children guess what they are doing. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot today from our teacher.
