Well, as we realize that life is not fair, I hope we won’t stop there… What’s the point of this parable that Jesus told? The point is that there are some people who trust in Jesus and serve him all the days of their life, while other people don't serve the Lord at all, then just before their life comes to an end, they put their trust in Jesus and accept him as their Savior. Both of their reward is -- eternal life. Is this unfair? Of course not if we consider eternal life really starts the day we believe in Jesus and living in sin is more suffering than enjoying... So "Life is not fair" is probably from our point of view... Plus if we got what was fair, none of us would go to heaven. The Bible says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.". I don't know about you, but I'm glad that God doesn't give me what is fair. But gives me his love and grace. in spite of what I deserve!
P.S. Sorry for not mentioning that enough in the class as all kids seem to handle it well and they are all pretty content with what they have! :-)
