The following is a summary written by Mona Yu about what she learned in children Sunday school last month. By the way, Mona Yu along with other 5th graders will move in to the youth group next month. We will surely miss them even though we know they will be in better hands there :-) Now enjoy her "preaching"on our Godly life...
People who are just Sunday Christians and people who truly are a disciple of Christ, what’s so different between them, aren’t they just the same, aren’t they both believers of God, what’s so different between the both of them? The difference is that people who are dedicated to God lead a more Godly life then the Sunday Christians, people who lead a Godly life have benefits because they are honest, pure, and wise because those 3 things lead a Godly life. They are much more beneficial than the Sunday Christians who just go to church because it’s a tradition. So if we lead a Godly life we can follow God’s disciples as well!
The first part of our Godly lives is purity; God wants us to be pure and challenges us in how pure we are in parts of our life. In our life being pure is important so that we can be closer to God and increase our faith in Him. We can only be pure by reading God’s word daily or praying to Him everyday. Reading God’s word everyday can help you understand the Bible better and you can also memorize his scriptures better. Being pure is awesome so when you Sunday school teacher is asking you to read something from the Bible, you already know it because you read your bible everyday, it would be cool if you did memorize the Bible and you wouldn’t have to memorize bible verses anymore!
The second part of your Godly lives is wisdom, seeking wisdom is often hard and challenging, but you can always find it in God’s word. Remember only God can give wisdom and accepting His words is important into gaining wisdom. We should seek for wisdom as if looking for treasure, God’s treasure. God wants us to be wisdom seeking so that we can be knowledgeable and more understanding. So seeking for wisdom is another important part in our Godly lives, having wisdom in tough decisions and when people ask you advice you’re absolutely the first person people would ask!
The last part of our Godly lives is honesty, honesty is important to help us develop godly character that can help us in our adulthood. God warns people who are unjust to honest people so if you’re honest you get God’s protection! If you’re honest in any way you’re always rewarded not only by God but by the people around you as well because they reward you for being honest, so being honest does have advantages! Practicing honesty is a good idea sometimes because telling lies makes you feel guilty after, so telling the truth does have its downfalls but it’s always better to not feel the guilty after, right?
Having a godly life is pretty hard but the benefits are great! Even if you aren’t that honest or being “pure” isn’t your thing it’s still okay, because God will always give you another chance. So in the end if you tried your best and read the Bible daily and tried being honest you’re doing well so far in your Godly life. Having a Godly life is important to God and yourself, so do your best!
