4/22 Spring planting by David Wang

Today is Sunday so we came to church. We first started with Sunday school by playing a game. It was about memorizing the verses, Psalms 23:1- 4. We were divided into two teams, A and B. The team with the most points wins. Every time we memorized a bible verse we got a point. Group A won the game, 13-12.
After we finished playing the game, we started to search for the names of Jesus by looking in the bible verses that the teacher wrote on the whiteboard. Next, we read the bible verses John 10:1-18. In these verses Jesus talks to us about the Shepard and the sheep, and a thief and robber who walks into the pen. In verse 9 he said: “Anyone who enters my gate will be saved.” Then he talks about his relationship with ours, and the reason he said his father loves him is because he gives up his live and regains it.

After this we had a closing prayer but the class wasn’t done yet. We did another activity during the time; we had to throw the token into a small tape rectangle. It was sort of difficult but we managed it. When we finished, it was time to switch for children worship.

In children worship we first sung songs like how great thou art, Ancient Words, and two Chinese songs. After we sung the songs, we started reading the bible verse, which was Mark 4:20. It said, “Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.” It means that the tree might take 30, 60 , or 100 years to produce a crop like my cherry tree, which took 10 years to produce a bunch of flowers on it and look pretty.

After reading the verse my dad told us that we would plant flowers outside the church like last year. He bought 12 big flowers and 24 small ones, so the total was 36, which we planted on 4 packs of rich soil. He told us the plan and we soon started planting. He brought tools from home to work with to loosen the soil, and plant the plants. First, some boys loosened the soil with shovels and rakes. When they finished loosening the soil, a couple of other boys helped dump the soil in the boundaries of the loosened soil. After, the boys with the rakes spread the soil around inside the boundaries. Then they went inside the church to get water, the girls planted the flowers. When they finished we watered them my dad took a picture of our work. Today was really fun, and hope you like this blog.

Why we need good soil for planting?
Apparently girls couldn't care less about this :-)

Layout good soil for planting is like preparing our heart for God'd words.

Let's make a plan how to plant these beatiful flowers

How about this pattern?

Let's do it!
Planting needs good soil and water.
We did it!
